Clifford Baileys original oil paintings of musicians, rustic street scenes, and thought-provoking portraits are celebrated by collectors and art enthusiasts throughout the world. Whether they are being seen at a contemporary art gallery, a private home or in a jazz club, the artwork of Clifford Bailey speaks for itself.
Bailey was born in Miami, Florida, in 1969 and began painting during the first few years of his life. With the help of a supportive family and teachers, Bailey painted throughout his formal education, and in 1987, began his college training at New York Citys prestigious School of Visual Arts (SVA), graduating in 1991.
In 1991, Bailey returned to Miami and began in earnest his career as a professional artist, painting live and exhibiting works at various venues, events and galas. Baileys efforts attracted the attention of dozens of local businesses, galleries and collectors. Soon, word spread and Bailey found himself moving to Atlanta, where he was greeted by an eager audience with a great appreciation for his paintings.
From 1998 until 2001, Clifford Bailey lived and painted in Atlanta, exhibiting works at many community-level initiatives , including events held at the Nexxus Center (now the Contemporary Art Center), and the Tula Arts Center. The renowned Georgian Terrace Hotel (across the street from The Fox Theater) features a Clifford Bailey portrait of the hotel in its early days, hanging prominently in the hotel lobby.
In May of 2001, Bailey moved to Los Angeles and found overwhelming responses to his art, including a solo exhibition at Culver Citys renowned Jazz Bakery. With representation at major galleries on the West Coast from Laguna Beach to Carmel, Half Moon Bay, and beyond, Bailey continues to paint live at venues like Chat Noir in Costa Mesa and at The Vic in Santa Monica.
Clifford Bailey Fine Art is published and exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. Commissioned originals can be found in the private collections of luminaries such as President Bill Clinton, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Dave Barry, and many accomplished musicians such as Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) and Jakob Dylan (The Wallflowers).
